I want to move the domain ownership to my company

Is it safe?

NO, at BWW we deal with cases daily where the employee hijacks the domain and we on behalf of the client try to vainly fight over the ownership. At the outset it seems all good but all it takes is bad turn in the employer and employee relationship to spell disaster

I am the owner of the business, why can’t I take it from the employee?

The ownership is with a key which is a combination of email and AUTH code. Once these are hijacked no one in the world including any government can you help you. It usually results in you creating a completely new domain and business. Whilst the employee can use the domain to get sales channeled to themselves

Is it safe with BWW?

YES firstly we are a private limited with a physical address. You can always visit a secure address while the employee can just vanish without a trace. Also you can file us a legal case (worst case scenario) if we don’t give it and we have to give in as we come under local incorporation laws. When you file a case against an employee you cannot get anything as the person will disappear and or deny

I have seen other companies owning domain names?

Firstly they may be risking themselves, secondly if you are technical enough and you are the owner of the business then you can personally create a vault and store the domain name but never give the access or ownership to an employee

How do I know whether I can manage this?

Do these words make any sense to you? Domain Lock. Auth code, WHOIS, Anonymous Privacy. Registrant Email address? If so please go ahead but if you are not familiar with these words please we urge you not to make any decision which you may regret later
